Blair Athol Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Highland region.
Blair Athol scotch whisky. 12 year old
A Provenance Bottling by Douglas Laing & Co. Ltd.

The Distillery was Founded in 1798 by John Stewart and Robert Robinson

Location Highlands Midlands district Pitlochry
Water source Allt Dour Burn

A bottling from one Sherry Butt DMG REF: 4108.
Un-chillfiltered. No colouring.

Tasting notes :-
Sugary sweet on the nose initially, it opens attractively to mixed spices and fruity hard candy qualities.

Light, fruity and tingling, on the early palate it moves on to a mature Round Sherry influence (without the merest hint of sulphur) - with more syrupy and spiced candy flavours developing.

The finish carries a clove like influence, going drier and spicier as it tails.

Caol Ila Single Malt Scotch Whisky 9 year old Bottling by the Alchemist

Until recently Caol Ila was the preserve of the Independent Bottler. Thankfully

Bowmore 9 year old Single Malt Whisky

Alchemist Bottling of Bowmore whisky at 9 years old

Situated in the capital of Islay, Bowmore is a medium peated single malt which gives it a wider audience than some of it’s more heavily peat influenced neighbours.

It has always been among my very favourite malts due to the balance it exudes.

This young pup has plenty of character on display.

Tasting Note:

Pale gold in colour.

A gentle peat aroma is followed on the palate by a silky and nicely oily texture.

Sweet floral notes with soft smoke are rounded off with a clean long and fruity finish.
