Dram of the Day: Tomintoul 10 year old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

" The Gentle Dram" from Speyside.

Built in 1964 by the Glaswiegn firms of Hay & Macleod & Co and W. S. Strong. At the time there was a shortage of malt whiskies for blending,

The Ballantruan Spring was chosen for its plentiful pure quality,  five miles north of Tomintoul, 2nd highest village in Scotland, close to the famous whisky producing Glenlivit area.

The Tomintoul 10 year old is Gold with hints of citrus, toffee with raisins on the nose.

This is a creamy clean whisky with a sweetness balanced with oaky spice.

The finish is smooth and mellow,  endured sweetness with a reassuring spice.
