On the nose there is notes of  peat and smoke which introduce a malty body and toasted marshmallow and citrus flavours.

This is an unusually mature release of this Classic Speysider with its dry and lingering finish.

Brora 24 year old 1977 Rare Malts Selection Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Brora 24 year old Rare Malts Selection bottled at Natural Cask Strength.
Distilled in 1977 and bottled  October 2001.
Limited Edition. Bottle Number 3968


Built in 1819 by the Marquis of Stafford, destined to be future Duke of Sutherland, Brora now closed, enjoyed fine buildings and befitting one of Scotlands earliest purpose built malt distilleries.

To enjoy this bright gold 24 year old Northern Highland cask strength at its best, measure one part whisky to two parts spring still water at room temperature.

Any slight cloudiness is normal in an un-filtered cask strength malt whisky.

When tasting, look for the bracing iodine aromas and polished, sweet smokey character of this mighty coastal malt, with its long, finally mustard-dry finish.

Glen Mhor Single Malt Scotch Whisky 28 year old 1976 70cl

The two whisky entrepreneurs John Mackinlays and John Birnie founded Glen Mhor Distillery in 1892.

The first whisky was distilled in December 1894

John Birnie & James McKinley formalised their partnership by becoming a private company in 1906.

The name Glen Mhor means "Great Glen" in Gaelic. In 1954 Glen Mhor became the first distillery to use Saladin Boxes to malt its Barley. These Maltings ceased operating in 1980

Bladnoch Single Malt Scotch Whisky 23 year old 1977

United Distillers mothballed the distillery in 1993. One year later Raymond Armstrong an Irish businessman acquired it under the condition that the distillery remained silent. After careful and prolonged discussion with UDV the condition was amended to a limited output.

The visitor centre was opened in 1998 and to the joy of whisky lover’s Limited production commenced in 2000

North Port Single Malt Whisky 20 year 1979 61.2% Rare Malts

Founded in 1820 by the brothers David, John & Alexander Guthrie
Location Highlands Eastern district.
Water source Loch Lee

North Port was one of the distilleries that didn't survive the 1983-85 period, the market at the time was suffering from over capacity and around a dozen single malt distilleries were closed. North Port was mothballed in 1983

In 1990 the site of the distillery was sold for property development, which now hosts a Safeways supermarket

The whisky produced was a contributor to the vatted malt Glen Dew and the Heather Dew blends.
