Pigs Nose Scotch Whisky Aged 5 Years 40%

Blended Scotch Whisky.
Pigs Nose Blended Scotch Whisky Tasting Note:

Tasting Note:

Colour: Golden sandy highlights. Clear and bright.

Nose: Firm and rich luscious creamy, round tones. The long marrying period has brought these many individual characters into one lasting union. Great harmony—soft and full with no ragged edges, smooth and mellow. Plenty of finesse and breeding.

Taste: A positive grip, almost a spicy richness as these great flavors attack the palate—leaving it beautifully rewarded as they drift over. Elegant and distinguished. The Speyside Malts—the heart of the whisky—have played a major part in bringing this quality blend together.
A truly classic long finish.

Serving suggestions:
taken with a splash of spring water.
“A big, sweet, chunky, gawky, grain—lashed and hugely enjoyable blend”

Sheep Dip and Pig’s Nose was originally produced in Scotland for
M J Dowdeswell, a landlord of a public house in the village of Oldbury in Gloucestershire, by George Morton Ltd.

Sheep Dip Scotch Whisky was first introduced in 1974
and Pigs Nose Scotch Whisky in 1977.

Elijah Craig Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Elijah Craig a Baptist preacher from Kentucky is credited with the invention of bourbon whiskey. He was also the founder of Georgetown College, in Georgetown, Kentucky.

Craig was born in Orange County, Virginia in 1738. He was ordained a Baptist minister in 1771, however he was imprisoned briefly in South Carolina, they say for disturbing the peace with his sermons.

He then moved to a large region of Kentucky known as Bourbon County, Kentucky and settled in the area of Frankfort in 1785. Two years later In 1777, he became pastor of Blue Run Church.

Craig was a shrewd businessman and a local entrepreneur; he built Kentucky's first fulling mill, its first paper mill, and founded a distillery around 1789 in Georgetown, Kentucky.

It's said that Craig's distillery was the first to age corn whiskey in new charred oak barrels, which is the decisive step in turning moonshine into Bourbon whiskey. This appears to have happened by chance.

After experiencing a fire in his barn where he stored his whiskey barrels. He continued to deposit his new whiskey in the burnt barrels anyway, Craig soon discovered that the whiskey aged better in the charred barrels, picking up colour and flavour, and earning Craig the title of the "Father of Bourbon."

Glenmorangie Scotch Whisky burgundy Wood Finish 43% abv

Founded in the early 1820s by David Sutherland
Region Highland region, Northern district
Water Source Tarlogie Springs

Colour:- Rich chestnut gold.

Nose:- At full strength, the confectionery sweetness of candied honeycomb in milk chocolate stimulates the senses, with aromatic top notes of spearmint and simmering coffee.

With water, the aroma is reminiscent of a summer fruit pudding - a burst of intense ripe fruits with plums, raspberries, figs and banana softened by sponge and cream; a dusting of cinnamon and nutmeg spice, and covered with flakes of sugared almonds.

Taste:- Rich, fruity and sweet with an intriguing range of mouthwatering and tingly flavours. The taste meets all the expectations promised on the nose with balanced sweetness, fruit and spicy notes. Initially, there is a burst of mouthwatering plums and raspberries, followed by tingly spices (cinnamon and nutmeg), and progressing to a lightly mouth-coating effect, reminiscent of sucking boiling sweets (oil of cloves). Later there is the gentle dryness of cocoa powder, grape must and almonds.

Finish:- Long and ‘tingly’ with raspberries, plums and cocoa powder.
