Matured in American oak bourbon casks with some European sherry casks

Glen Elgin 1995 Scotch Whisky Tasting note
Colour: Golden brown.

Neat
Nose: Heavy malt presence, rich chocolate and stewed fruit notes.
Palate: Prominent spicy character, with more subtle fruit and floral elements.

With Water
Nose: Earthy, woody, with the sweetness of sherry coming to the fore
.
Palate: A balanced sweetness with the heat from the spices.

Body: Medium bodied, a light and pleasant Speyside Malt.

Finish: Rounded and smooth.

Cask Type: Refill Sherry Hogsheads.

Whisky Style: A strong sherry influence but the elegant Speyside character shines through.
