Gordon & MacPhail 50 Year old Scotch Whisky

50 year old whisky matured and bottled by Gordon& MacPhail and presented in Gordon MacPhail's standard cardboard outer.

MacPhails 50 year old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is distilled to Gordon & MacPhail’s order and then matured in their own casks either at its place of birth or in their warehouse in Elgin.

The birthplace is a closely guarded secret giving this fine malt an air of mystery.
It is full bodied, finely balanced, complex and graceful, mellowed by age and ennobled by pedigree.

Colour: Amber.

Neat
Nose: Sweet, pine resin and green grass/leafy aromas. Sherry notes slowly emerge with a toffee/fudge sweetness.
Palate: Sweet, rich and spicy - sherry wood with charred oak elements. Some plain chocolate with a hint of menthol.

With Water
Nose: Perfumed - heather notes, some leather and ground coffee aromas. Subdued sherry notes.
Palate: Smoky - almost phenolic. Sweet sherry notes appear with a delicate sweetness.
Body: Rich and balanced, fresh.
Finish: Sweet sherry with a phenolic edge.
Cask Type: Refill Sherry Casks.
Whisky Style: The distillery character has been enhanced by the many years in the Sherry Casks.
