Dram Of The Day: BenRiach Single Malt Scotch Whisky Peated Curiositas 10 year old

Speyside region. Lossie district.

A notable departure from the usual "Safe" appeal of mid range tasting style , this rare peated Single Malt from the Heartland of Speyside has wonderful overtones of peat reek which combine cleverly with the background of fruity, floral heathery notes that are normally associated with the region. In fact peated BenRiach is a return of the original Speyside character and flavour of malts that are typical of the nineteenth century.

Whisky traditionalists believe that peated malts achieve optimum balance of peat-bittersweet and oak fusion after 10 years of maturation which is achieved in this whisky.

BenRiach Single Malt Scotch Whisky Peated Curiositas 10 year old  40%70cl Tasting Notes...

Colour:-Rich amber

On the Nose:- there is an explosion of aromatic peat reek, with fragrant hints of honey, fruit and mellow oak.

Palate:- Starts with an avalanche of peat, followed by extravagant and complex mix of fruit, heather, nuts, oak wood and spices.

If you like peated whiskies this is one to try.

In a presentation Tube and an appealing present for fathers day
