Dram of the day: Glenglassaugh “Revival” Single Malt Scotch Whisky

The Glenglassaugh “Revival” is the first Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the re-furbished (and New Owners) Glenglassaugh Distillery for general release.

It is from a combination of first and refill cask styles, finally finished in 1st fill Oloroso sherry butts for the last 6 months before bottling.

Glenglassaugh “Revival” Review Non-chill filtered and natural colour, a Highland Single Malt with a coastal charm. Volume: 700 ml.
Strength: 46% abv.

The whisky is a rich Copper colour.

On the nose there are sweet caramel and toffee with notes of nutty sherry, milk chocolate and honey. Ripe plums, red berries and oranges are apparent. Caramelised sugar and earthy, charred oak.

The palate matches the nose: Sweet, rounded and creamy. Oranges, plums, cherry and walnuts, chocolate, honey-mead, sherry and soft, spiced oak.

The Finish can be considered medium with warming mulled-wine spices, sherry and caramel.
