Dram of the day: Benromach 25 Years Old, Malt Whisky

Matured in Refill American Hogsheads.

The colour is a pleasant  Bright amber with a clean & fresh body

On the nose there are Citrus fruits - oranges and lemons with a softer fruit element also present. Delicate floral aromas and a spicy earthy note can be detected

On the palate the whisky is sweet and spicy with cedar wood and subtle citrus fruitiness developing late.

With a drop of spring water added the floral note is more dominant however the soft fruit element remains with the addition of a little toffee and vanilla sweetness.

On the palate the water adds hints of smokiness, charred oak and spices - cinnamon with a rich fruit flavour developing.

The finish is sweet, spices with a little fruitiness.

The Style is fresh and mellow, full of  the Speyside character an ideal desert whisky
