Dram of the Day: Linkwood 1972 Scotch Malt Whisky

Cask type; Refill Sherry & Bourbon casks.

A dark amber in colour with a medium body

On the Nose there is a defined sweetness with sherry influences, rum and raisin notes with hints of festive mixed spices linger.

The palate brings a creamy with a dark chocolate edge. Some chilli spices emerge. With hints of stewed winter fruits.

With water added the nose is fresh and sweet with defined Sherry notes and a subtle hint of menthol lingering in the background.

The palate remains sweet and creamy with a delicate spicy edge (cinammon). Mouth warming and smooth.

The finish is Long and warming.

Delicious with a slice of fruit cake.
