Tamdhu Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Note :- Initially dry on the nose, it then warms to autumnal fruits and maraschino cherries. Honey hits the palate sweetly with juicy barley backing it up - then its finish is softly ( cough drop style ) spiced - smoked - and barley sugared. (F)

Bottled winter 2011 Single cask bottling at 46% by Douglas Laing under their Provenance Label

Un Chilled filtered No Colouring taken from one refill Hogshead DMG Ref 6919

Tasting Notes:
Opens with a fresh haylike and fruity (peaches) character on the nose and develops to a gree malt quality

The palate is sweet and carries a strawberry jam, macerated fruit and an elderflower style.

The finish is short but sweet and remains pleasingly fresh & light (F)

Distilled in Spring 2001 and bottled Summer 2011 from one Refill Hogshead DMG Ref : 7645

Tasting notes...
On the nose detect an early strawberry jam character - plus sweet spices and a dry barley gristiness.
Initially toasted - now honeyed - on the palate - it warms to a real vanilla fudge quality.
It then heads to a long spiced finish - with a liquorice tail. (F)

tasting notes;

Gristy, malty, soft and dry on the nose.

Move on to a sweet palate - at odds with the nose - carrying fresh fruit (pears), and candyfloss.

Its finish is still sweet, now spiced and carries a tail of light woodland smoke (F).

From one sherry butt DMG Ref: 7507

Craigallachie Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Note;

On the nose it is spiced and raisiny - with an interesting richness akin to freshpeaches in a wood carry box.

Paletewise it is full and sweetly barley'd - peppery - with more (now macerated) soft dark fruit very much evident.

All this leads to a considerably drier finish with hints oftobacco, ginger and nutmeg.

Glen Ord Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes..

Very clean - fresh and gristy on the nose - with a sugary late twist . On the palate detect that same crunched sugar quality - plus light spices - barley and a hint of citrus. That is well replicated on the finish which may now be a shade creamier. (F)

On the nose detect autumn fruits with dry spices and a barley gristiness - all "perfumed" together.

On the palate anticipate crunched sugar, barley, spicy fruit and oak - all leading to a toffee,d - fruity - barleyed and lightly oaked finish. (F)

Distilled in Spring 1999 and bottled Autumn 2010 from one Refill Butt DMG Ref : 6566

Tasting notes...
Opens fresh and fruity on the nose, it runs to a sweet vanilla style with a candy floss character.
the palate is sweet and spicy and carries a tablet, American cream soda quality, maybe even a lightly smoked character, before it runs drier.
The finish is long, reminiscent of a coffee liqueur filled dark Belgian
chocolate. (J)

Un-chill filtered no colouring added a single cask bottling from one refill Hogshead DMG ref 6922
Tasting notes :-
Honeyed - perfumed - and attractively barley sweet on the nose... move onto a big round palate with more (runny) honey - dark sugar tones and Malt.

The finish is then warmingly spiced - still remarkably sweet - with that same round malty quality apparent. (F)

Opens with a gristy sweet character plus a barley sugar quality and develops to spicy honey'd ginger biscuits.

The very smooth palate opens sweetly spiced fruity and runs to a vanilla and toffee style with more ginger.

The finish is long , still fruitly sweet , now with spiced peaches.

Initially rather spiced on the nose then a more subtle barley style eases through.
On the palate detect a mouth coating and sweetly spiced style which runs to (Treacle) toffee.
The finish is big on spice, malt and more caramel toffee flavours - then heads drier (F)

The nose opens with a gristy sweet character, like entering a malt barn and develops to a fruit plus creamy style. Still sweet, the palate carries a barley sugar quality and has a nice malty mouthfeel with a cough sweet warmth. The sweet gristy style returns on the finish which is long, dryly spiced yet mellow. Distinctly gristy as it opens on the nose plus some citrus and lightly oaked tones. 
The palate is initially massively sweet, opening further to barley and nutty flavours -
 all neatly replicated plus more spice on the finish. (J)

The nose opens with honey and spices and develops to orange blossom and chewy orange caramels.

The palate is attractively sweet with barley sugar and more spices.

The finish is long with an orange tang, sweet spices and soft leather lingering on (F)

Glen Grant Scotch Whisky 12 year old 46% 70cl

Speyside region.Rothes Town district.

Brothers James and John Grant, who were attracted to the location by the plentiful supply of spring water from the Caperdonich Well on the hillside above, founded the distillery in 1840.

They had been smugglers and also worked the Dandaleith distillery near Craigellachie during the 1830s.

The nose carries a fresh and clean, lightly barley sugared sweetness with honey and fresh apple.

The medium weighted body reveals a sweet palate with the same barley sugar and honey combination repeated.

The finish is medium long with a spiced and orange pith tang. (J)

Glenburgie Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes...

Initially the nose is grassy and herbal with a citrus character and develops to ripe caramelised bananas.

The mouth coating palate is full bodied and carries an initial dryness followed by a spicy sweetness.

The finish replicates the palate with lingering dry, lightly smoked spices (J)
