Dram of The Day: Balblair 2002 Scotch Whisky

This initial release of The Balblair 2002 is a rich sparkling gold colour.

The nose carries the signature Balblair aromas that are  floral and fragrant combined with zesty fruits such as oranges and lemons in the background. The American oak, ex-bourbon barrels used in maturation can be detected which  impart toffee and vanilla notes.

On the palate the mouthfeel  is full bodied with a sweet and spicy character, as with the nose hints of oranges, lemons, green apples, toffee and vanilla come through. 

The finish is satisfyingly long as the floral and fruit notes develop and combine with the initial spice and sweetness from the American oak casks
