Bowmore 16 year old Single Malt Whisky

Bowmore 16-year-old defeated 34 other whisky competitors who entered Whisky Live Leiden.
The judging panel of Dutch whisky experts carefully selected six from a blind tasting, before 2,900 consumers voted online to decide the outright winner.

Initially matured in bourbon and then transferred into Bordeaux wine casks, Bowmore 16-year-old’s unique flavours impressed the judging panel and won the overall consumer vote.

Bowmore is a single malt whisky of a truly rugged character which has matured in Bowmore’s unique cellars, beaten by the wild Atlantic winds and soaked in sea spray from Loch Indaal’s untamed waves.

It is the original whisky from Islay’s oldest distillery established in 1779, where each finished expression is balanced by nature.

For six years the spirit was infused with light vanilla notes from the Bourbon barrels. In 1998, the golden spirit was transferred to Limousin Bourdeux wine casks to breathe in the subtle tannins and rich fruit flavours from the oak wood.

Initially the palate is rich, sweet and smoky followed by a hint of Atlantic Sea salt.
The finish is a long deep infusion of juicy ripe berries and the trademark Bowmore smokiness
